What is Hypnotherapy?
Healing by trance has been acknowledged for centuries and has been observed and used - in one form or another - in virtually every culture throughout the world.
Hypnosis (from the Greek 'hypnos',meaning 'sleep') is a state of mind enhanced by (although not exclusisvly) mental and physical relaxation in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind. This state of mind may be brought about either by self-hypnosis or with the help of a trained professional, who utilises the state to encourage positive change to occur. The process is referred to as 'Hypnotherapy'.
Hypnotherapy is a psychological and counselling therapy which attempts to address the client's subconscious mind by using a broad spectrum of techniques. These range from: metaphors and symbolism, story telling, to direct suggestions and analitical techniques for the treatment of emotional, psychological or physical disorders, unwanted habits and undesirable feelings.
Hypnotherapy is considered to be a fairly short-term approach in which beneficial change should become apparant within relativley few sessions.

The majority of people believe hypnosis is a last resort tool for smoke cessation, weight loss, changing habits, depression, IBS. Few people know hypnotherapy is a dynamic and vital healing process embracing all aspects of mental health care. Hypnotherapy is client-cantered with its focus on the discovery of the origin of a person’s issues. Through the process of hypnosis/regression the unconscious mind goes to the original cause, which then gives the person and practitioner the opportunity to process the original feelings surrounding the original experience/cause. These surrounding feelings can be healed, thus empowering the person to live the life they want to live.
The above study clearly points out—Hypnotherapy is more effective and works more quickly than traditional talk-therapy or psychoanalysis. In a hypnotic state, you are more receptive to new ideas and you can more effectively process the emotions linked to the experiences, which created pain, fear, sadness, anger, guilt, shame, humiliation and low self-esteem.
Hypnotherapy is a special form of communication to the subconscious mind where habits are established and memory is stored. Because the language of the subconscious mind is visual, the more detailed your image is of your goal, the faster your subconscious mind will create the changes you desire. Once your subconscious accepts a new idea, you automatically accept it at a conscious level.
Hypnotic trance is a natural state of the mind that is between the aware state and sleep. Driving a route you are familiar with and not being conscious of every turn you make is similar to the hypnotic state. In that state you can access your subconscious mind, which makes up 90% of your mind. With hypnotherapy, you reprogram and release thought patterns and habits to make desirable, lasting changes in your life.
You are in control. It's a myth that someone is making you do something. The hypnotherapist helps you connect with your subconscious mind, which puts YOU in control of your subconscious mind—the most powerful and empowering aspect of your brain. Hypnosis restores your freedom of choice, which you haven't had in many years!
Who can be hypnotised?
Virtually everyone can be hypnotise, but some are more readily hypnotisable than others. Also, it will depend upon one's willingness to be hypnotised at the time. This willingness will depend upon a number of factors some of which are the person's particular needs and their trust and confidence in the therapist.
Hypnotic trance is a natural state of mind and in most cases light to medium trance is enough to outcome the beneficial. When you are hypnotizied, you are not asleep. Your conscious mind is always aware of what you are experiencing while you are hypnotizied. You are always in control of what you say.

1 Q. Do I lose control?
A. General consensus indicates that regardless of how deeply poeple may go in hypnosis they actually remain in full control of the situation.
2 Q. What can I expect?
A. I usually say to my cleints to be open minded. But whatever the problem I work on or the techniques I use, at the end of the session the client usually feels very relaxed with an increased sense of well-being.
3 Q. How many sessions will I need?
A. This varies from person to person and also depends on the problem. Some poeple respond quicker than others (or perhaps they are more ready to face their inner-selves).For example,for Stop Smoking usually one session is enough,Comfortable Childbirth is a course of six sessions and Losing Weight takes a few sessions.
4 Q. Does Hypnotherapy have any side effects?

Gestalt Therapy - Gestalt Therapy was developed and taught by Fritz Perls in the 1950s -70s. It is a "non trance"" therapy, but a very powerful one. It is based on, that our apparent outer world is really only a reflection of our inner world. Through the heightening of our awareness of our process, feelings, and parts we can find ourselves moving through the emotional conflicts and traumas and entering into wholeness in the moment. Gestalt Dialogue used in altered or trance state is called Etheric Plane Communication (Quigley) and is undoubtfully one of the most powerful tools I use and I've seen its profound effect on my clients. Many of the elements of Gestalt therapy are integrated in the work I do in my Regression Therapy work.
Dream Work - This is a process of making use of significant dreams brought to the session by the client. I mainly use Gestalt Dream work and usually I do not do interpretation of the dreams nor do I foster an intellectual interpretation of the dream by the client. Such interpretive work is too misleading and mentally distracting and only keeps the client away from the real solutions by avoiding the feelings of the core issues that reside in the dreams or that the dreams are an avenue to. Instead, I help the client to use the dream through application of Gestalt Therapy principles in trance state to come to an awakening and healing of the causes that the dreams are a mirror or reflection of.
EMDR (Eyes Movement Desensitization Reprossecing) - It is an innovative clinical treatment that has successfully helps individuals who have survived trauma, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, combat, crime, and those suffering from a number of other complaints including depressions, addictions, phobias and a variety of self-esteem issues.
EMDR is a method of psychotherapy that integrates many of the successful elements of a range of therapeutic approaches in combination with eye movements or other forms of rhythmical stimulation in ways that stimulate the brain’s information processing system. With EMDR therapy it is unnecessary to delve into decades-old psychological material, but rather, by activating the information-processing system of the brain, people can achieve their therapeutic goals at a rapid rate, with recognizable changes that don’t disappear over time.
Controlled studies support the efficacy of EMDR, making it the most thoroughly researched method ever used in the treatment of trauma.
The major significance of EMDR is that it allows the brain to heal its psychological problems at the same rate as the rest of the body is healing its physical ailments. Because EMDR allows minds and body to heal at the same rate, it is effectively making time irrelevant in therapy. Given its wide application, EMDR promises to be the therapy of the future.
Dr. Francine Shapiro is the creator of EMDR. She is a licensed psychologist and a senior research fellow at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto.
What does EMDR stand for?
Eye Movement.Much has been learned about this therapy since the day it was named for eye movements. Now it appears that the beneficial effects are facilitated by an alternating stimulation of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Eye movements accomplish this, as do bilateral alternating hand taps or audio tones.
Desensitisation refers to the removal of the emotional disturbance associated with a traumatic memory.
Reprocessing refers to the replacement of the unhealthy, negative beliefs associated with traumatic memories, with more healthy ones.
